Fees

The University of Melbourne has adopted a new system for charging Postgraduate Course Fees. Fees per subject will be set on an annual basis.

A fee calculator is located at http://www.futurestudents.unimelb.edu.au/aust/fees/calccw.html

Fee Help is now available for this course for Australian residents or holders of Australian permanent visas. Fee Help is an interest-free loans facility for fee-paying postgraduate students undertaking non-research courses. It is similar to the deferred payment arrangements available under HECS. For further details please go to http://www.goingtouni.gov.au

Tax Benefits:

If your study has a connection to your current income-earning activities, you should examine  Taxation Ruling TR 98/9 closely with your accountant.  The ruling examines deductibility of  program fees under self-education expenses under Section 8-1 of the Australian Income Tax Assessment Act 1997.  The ruling provides comprehensive guidelines on eligibility and types of deductions available.
